USAA Honors Safelite® Solutions with Supplier Recognition Award for Innovation
COLUMBUS, Ohio – July 23, 2013 - Safelite® Solutions, a leading P+C claims management provider, has earned a Supplier Recognition Award in the Innovation category from USAA. Selected by a panel of USAA judges, Safelite® Solutions was honored for three recent innovations: the self-service web tool, the technician profile e-mail, and national windshield recycling program.

Recognizing that more and more USAA members turn to the Internet to file a glass claim, receive a cost estimate and schedule service, Safelite® developed an online self-service tool.
Once a mobile appointment is scheduled with Safelite AutoGlass®, a technician profile e-mail is sent to the member, providing the technician’s name, bio and photo, in an effort to provide comfort and peace of mind to customers.
Finally, Safelite® has implemented a national windshield recycling program to save roughly 14,000 to 20,000 tons of material going to landfills every year. Safelite® is the first company to recycle the entire windshield, both the glass and the laminate, and the repurposing materials are then used for U.S.-manufactured goods, including fiberglass insulation, paint, and carpet backing.
