Safelite AutoGlass® Responds to Hurricane Damage in Northeast
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nov. 2, 2012 - All Safelite AutoGlass® locations in the northeast are operational and available to help with vehicle glass repair or replacement needs resulting from Hurricane Sandy. The company has deployed 23 additional technicians to New York and New Jersey in addition to its more than 50 facilities. Both in-shop and mobile service is available.
Safelite AutoGlass® shipped extra inventory to the impacted areas prior to the storm to increase availability of the right parts. If the part is not available, Safelite® can weather-proof your vehicle with shrink wrap until the replacement can be completed.
For those that cannot make it to a Safelite® shop, experts recommend covering the broken windshield or window with plastic and securing it with painters’ tape as opposed to duct tape, which can peel paint from the vehicle.
“Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. We hope that you and your loved ones are safe and sound,” said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of Safelite AutoGlass®. “We want our customers to know we’re here… if you need us.”
Safelite® customers can receive a quote or schedule service at safelite.com or by calling 1-800-800-ASAP (2727). Both in-shop and mobile vehicle glass service appointments are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
